New holiday cosmetic collections!!

Lush Satsumo Santa Bath Bomb. $6. He's a BIG FAT SANTA for your bath! Very cute and festive. Makes me want to sip some apple cider, smell the Christmas tree and watch little twinkly lights. Stick him in your bath and he makes the water fizzy and fragrant, leaving your skin extra soft. The sumo santa smells like orange and bergamot - yum. All my little Lush Christmas goodies inspired me to get a peppermint mocha pre-Christmas season. Thanks, Sumo Santa, for making my day just a little more cheery.

Double Fast Luck Emotibomb. $4.50. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE lush bath bombs. So fun and fizzy and pretty-smelling. However, I don't remember the last time I took a bath. Soooo, Lush created a version for the shower! It's pink and sparkly and smells sweet/spicy. A lot of the fragrances at Lush are WAY too sickeningly sweet for me, but this one is perfect. You put it on the floor of your shower, let the water hit it and BOOM! The steam releases the fragrance for a more luxurious shower. I think I'm gonna use it one morning when I dread going to school and need that little extra oomph to get moving, which I usually do with some kind of tasty, sugary latte or snuggling into my Uggs (don't hate). The sad thing is, you only get one use out of it. However, it looks pretty big, about the size of a softball, so I'm gonna break it up and try to get two or three uses out of it. Happy showers!

Lush So White Bath Bomb. $4. Smells like apple cider and rose petals. It's a cross between a Bath Bomb and a bubble bar, so it doesn't just fizz and soften your bath, it also foams it up. It's supposed to make a layer of "snow" on your bath. Funzies!

Lush Christmas Eve Bubble Bar. $7. Now, I love me some jasmine. So I was drawn to the scent of this bubble bar, even though the purple/yellow glittery design resembles something a 5-year-old might make out of play dough. It smells like a bath gel I used to use from Lush called Flying Fox, which had an overpowering jasmine scent in the bottle but left just the perfect amount of fragrance on your skin. The deal with bubble bars are, you crumble some into the tub, run water on it and...instant bubble bath! I can't remember the last time I had a bubble bath, so it should be a fun experience.

Lush Snow Showers Shower Jelly. $7. This came with a package of Christmas products I bought. Honestly, the whole jelly = soap thing kind of freaks me out. However, I'm willing to give it a try. It's white and wiggly and smells like oranges. The sales people told me to put it in the fridge before I use it in the shower, and you get both a hot AND cold sensation that's supposed to be invigorating. I dunno man. It's a little out of my comfort zone, but I'll try it and let you know how it goes.

YSL Golden Gloss in "Golden Cherry". $29. HOLY GOD. I LOVE THIS. Normally, I hate glosses. They're sticky or don't stay where you want them or taste terrible or look too slick or too glittery or whatever. But I thought, "what the hell, let's try a bright red shimmery holiday gloss". It was SO pretty. Apparently it actually has 24-karat gold in it, which may explain it's price. But hey, it works. It felt moisturizing, wasn't sticky, didn't slide around, wasn't too glittery. And reds can be really tricky, but this was perfect. Don't get me wrong - it was bright. Not like fire engine bright, but like Christmas poinsettia bright. Like holly berries bright. Like Santa's suit bright! You definitely have to keep the rest of your face neutral. I got three compliments on it from customers while I was just walking around the store. You can imagine my dismay when I discovered they'd run out of the HG gloss. I made sure to put my name on their list so Sephora can call me when they get more in stock and hold one for me. If the red's not your thing, I'd definitely try one of the other golden glosses, because, honest to god, this is the ONLY gloss I have ever loved.

Nars Eyeliner Pencil in Kitty. $20. Ok, this one isn't a holiday one, but I just discovered it today. I've used this pencil before in grey, and it's great to line the inner rims of your eyes. Goes on smooth, looks great. If you use it on the outer rims, however, it can get a bit smudgy toward the end of the day, which is why liquid eyeliner always trumps pencil. Annnnyways, I was browsing around and decided to try a wackadoodle fun color. Turquoise. I know. It's out there. But with black mascara and a neutral shadow, it actually looks really fun. It makes your eyes pop like crazy. Try a bright, colorful eyeliner as opposed to the usual black, grey, brown sometimes. It makes your face way more interesting to look at, haha.

Givenchy Parad'Eyes Fluid Eyeliner. $27. So I was at Sephora restocking some basics...Diorshow mascara, Nars eyeliner pencil...when I ran across this little gem. At first, I was drawn in by Givenchy's luxe packaging. Had to check out their new limited edition holiday collection. O.M.G. They had two new colors - "Tender Pearl", metallic pink, and "Elegant Pearl", metallic silver. I am not exaggerating when I say these are the prettiest eyeliners I have ever seen. They are shimmery, but not glittery, they go on perfectly smooth, have incredible staying power (might even be waterproof, not sure), basically the whole package. They don't look ridiculous or costumey on the way some shimmery makeup does. I bought the silver one because I thought it might be more versatile, but I think I'm gonna have to go back and get the pink one as well. Since they're limited edition I'm gonna have to STOCK UP. I wish they had one in dark violet that I could wear everyday to replace my current liner. Hmm, maybe next season...
